Finding Financial Fits
Each of our clients has different goals and different financial backgrounds. Every college offers varying amounts of Merit Based aid and Need Based aid. Which institutions will be a financial fit will vary depending on the family income and student’s measurables. Using the information we have at our disposal and our expertise in the process, we know which colleges can offer the right blend of Need and Merit based aid for your family.
Navigating cost planning is more about predicting an institutions Net Price for your family rather than an “average aid award amount”. For example, a university with a total Cost of Attendance of $75,000 may offer a student a $35,000 aid package whereas a university with a total Cost of Attendance of $45,000 may offer the same student a $15,000 aid package. Sure, the first university was more generous with aid, but the Net Price for the family is $40,000 but the second university has a Net Price of $30,000.
We are partners of the Financial Planning Association of East Tennessee. Collegiate Blueprint has provided presentations on topics like FAFSA and navigating Financial Aid Letters to be used as continuing education credits for its members. While we ethically cannot promise you a specific aid amount, we promise that nobody is better suited to help you select colleges that will maximize the aid you receive based on your specific situation.
Our Process Gives Students Usable Information They’ll Return To Again and Again
Aptitudes IdentifiedOur aptitude assessment measures a student’s underlying, innate abilities (visual comparison speed, spatial reasoning, pattern recognition, etc.). |
Results InterpretedWe distill the assessment’s results in a report on the student’s aptitudes and interests. We discuss these results with our families, answering any questions along the way. Families leave with the report which serves as a valuable discussion guide for the student and parents as they continue the conversation. |
Career ComparisonThe student’s data is then compared to results from hundreds of thousands of professionals across more than 500 careers. (Including careers that do not require a 4-year degree.) |
Avenues of StudyThe results yield a searchable database of careers that fit both the student’s aptitudes and interests. This not only helps guide them toward possible avenues of study, but it also helps students form meaningful plans for summer activities. Thusly they can build their knowledge about careers and demonstrate applied interest to colleges. |
Career StatisticsThe assessment also provides detailed information on the specific duties for each career along with salary statistics and detailed job growth statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor. |
Context for ChoicesAll of this becomes part of our students’ base of self-knowledge and gives them a context from which to consider best next moves as they progress through their academic and professional career. (Our assessment results are available to our students for 10 years.) |
